Cybersecurity in Robotics: Challenges, Quantitative Modeling, and Practice

چکیده
Robotics is becoming more and ubiquitous, but the pressure to bring systems market occasionally goes at cost of neglecting security mechanisms during development, deployment or while in production. As a result, contemporary robotic are vulnerable diverse attack patterns, posteriori hardening least challenging, if not impossible all. This book aims stipulate inclusion robotics from earliest design phases onward with special focus on cost-benefit tradeoff that can otherwise be an inhibitor for fast development affordable systems. We advocate quantitative methods management design, covering vulnerability scoring tailored systems, accounting highly distributed nature robots as interplay potentially very many components. A powerful approach model-based offered by game theory, providing rich spectrum techniques optimize against various kinds attacks. Such multi-perspective view necessary address heterogeneity complexity intended accessible starter theoretician practitioner working field.

Cybersecurity Issues and Challenges: In Brief
The information and communications technology (ICT) industry has evolved greatly over the last half century. The technology is ubiquitous and increasingly integral to almost every facet of modern society. ICT devices and components are generally interdependent, and disruption of one may affect many others. Over the past several years, experts and policy makers have expressed increasing concerns...
متن کاملSoft Robotics: Challenges and Perspectives
There has been an increasing interest in the use of unconventional materials and morphologies in robotic systems because the nderlying mechanical properties (such as body shapes, elasticity, viscosity, softness, density and stickiness) are crucial research opics for our in-depth understanding of embodied intelligence. The detailed investigations of physical system-environment interctions are pa...
متن کاملCybersecurity Challenges to American State and Local Governments
In this paper, we examine cybersecurity challenges to American state and local governments. In particular, we address the extent and magnitude of cyberattacks against these governments, the problems these governments face in preventing attacks from being successful, the barriers internal to their organizations that make cybersecurity difficult to achieve, and actions that they believe should be...
متن کاملCan Cybersecurity Be Proactive? A Big Data Approach and Challenges
The cybersecurity community typically reacts to attacks after they occur. Being reactive is costly and can be fatal where attacks threaten lives, important data, or mission success. But can cybersecurity be done proactively? Our research capitalizes on the Germination Period—the time lag between hacker communities discussing software flaw types and flaws actually being exploited—where proactive...
